Whatever Siyakholwa Kuse will be feasting on during the festive season, he will need to be careful on what he eats as he has a very important fight in the new year.
The World Boxing Council (WBC) ordered a minimumweight elimination bout between second rated Kuse and Filipino boxer Joey Canoy, who is third in the ratings. Previously, Kuse and Canoy were set to have fought in a WBC minimumweight elimination bout.
However, things changed so quickly that the Mdantsane-born Kuse ended up challenging reigning WBC minimumweight champion Melvin Jerusalem in October.
Jerusalem successfully registered a unanimous points decision in as he defended his crown against Kuse in Manila, Philippines, in October.
And that was the third time Jerusalem successfully defended his title since winning it in a fight against Japanese boxer Yudai Shigeoka in March last year.
