Bafana Bafana are going to face Mexico in the opening match of Group A of the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City on Thursday, 11 June.
It’s going to be exactly 16 years since Bafana faced the Mexicans in the 2010 World Cup opening match at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
A week later, coach Hugo Broos’ boys will clash against European play-off winners between Czech Republic, Republic of Ireland, Denmark and North Macedonia at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, United States of America (USA).
Bafana will complete their Group A programme with a match against Korea Republic at the BBVA Stadium in Guadalupe, Mexico, on Wednesday, 24 June.
