After a number of postponements and cancellations, Sibusiso Zingange has had enough and has decided to thrown in the towel in as far as fighting for the vacant South African junior-welterweight title is concerned.

Zingange, a former SA junior-lightweight champion, was due to have fought for the vacant title against Aphiwe Boyiya, but the fight got postponed a number of times since July.

“I’m pulling out of the fight, which is suppose to take place next year for the national title. I have spoken to my team. This fight gave me a lot of stress, too much to deal with,” a frustrated Zingange said.

The national title was relinquished by Ntethelelo Nkosi when he opted to take part in the WBC Grand Prix in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Nkosi from Mtubatuba lost to Colombian boxer Carlos Alfonso Utria Lopez in the semi-finals of the competition.

“I think it’s best the owner fights for the title, then we challenge it after. I’ve had enough, it’s too much. I lost sponsorship because of this fight,” Zingange, who’s rated number two in South Africa, remarked. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
