NO DOUBT Management and Teiken Promotions have entered into a partnership, which is aimed at helping showcase the talents of South Africa’s boxers.
This partnership came as a result of a meeting between NO DOUBT Management Colin Nathan and Teiken Promotions boss Akihiko Honda in Japan last September. Nathan had visited Japan when Naoya ‘The Monster’ Inoue defeated Murodjon Akhmadaliev in Nagoya.
After that, Nathan left the Asian country with a firm deal and a new partnership with the Japanese promotional company.
Nathan has done business with Teiken Promotions before, with Hekkie Budler, Moruti Mthalane and most recently Phumelela Cafu fighting in Japan.
“I met with Mr Honda after the Inoue- Akhmadaliev fight at his world-famous Teiken Gym in Tokyo, and we went for lunch. We have a deal in place that Mr Honda will be looking to partner with me on some of the talent that I sign at home,” Nathan said.
Honda’s promotional outfit has promoted some of the best boxing talents including Jorge Linares, Edwin Valero, Ryota Murata as well as Naoya Inoue and Jesse Rodriguez, who are both on top of the pound-for-pound list.
