Kaizer Chiefs defeated Lamontville Golden Arrows 1-0 in a Betway Premiership match played at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Tuesday evening.
Amakhosi defender Aden McCarthy scored the only goal of the match six minutes before the half-time break. Following the win, Chiefs moved into third spot on the Premiership table with just two points behind log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and one behind Orlando Pirates.
Meanwhile, Tshegofatso Mabasa scored on debut as his goal helped his new club Stellenbosch FC defeat Sekhukhune United 1-0 in another Premiership match held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
