Mzi Booi’s plans to push rising star and unbeaten boxer Lonwabo Sizani’s career forward will see the youngster fighting for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Silver junior-lightweight title in less than three months’ time.

Kay B Promotions boss Booi has announced that Sizani will fight against Tanzanian boxer Abdul Ahmed Mangula and the eight rounds bout is set for Saturday, 4 April, in East London.

Trained by former South African junior-bantamweight champion Mzi Dintsi and Bobbin Sityana, Sizani is rated ninth in the latest Boxing South Africa (BSA) junior-lightweight ratings.

Sizani, who made his professional debut with a win over Loyiso Kewuti in October 2024, has proved to be a knockout specialist, having won all his five fights with stoppages.

Mangula, meanwhile, fought four times last year, winning three of them by a technical knockout. Overall, Mangula has four wins and a draw. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
