Following the expiry of its term in office three months ago, the executive committee of the National Professional Boxing Promoters Association (NPBPA) has called promoters in provincial committees to a virtual meeting, which is set for 19h00 on Thursday.
Before the call for Thursday’s meeting, there has been silence from the NPBPA leadership since the expiry of their term in October last year. The NPBPA executive committee was elected at an elective conference in Durban in October 2022.
“You are cordially invited to a meeting on Thursday the 29th January 2026 at 19h00,” a message sent by the NPBPA to different boxing promoters read.
According to the message sent to the provincial promoters executive committees, the agenda has only two items. Without further explanation, the two items on the agenda are a road map to an annual general meeting as well as the establishment of sub-committees.
