Oyisa Gingxana has added yet another provincial title to his household following in the footsteps of his elder brother Hlumelo, who is the Eastern Cape lightweight champion.
Oyisa stopped Athi Klaas in the fourth round during a vacant Eastern Cape junior-bantamweight title contest at the Peddie Extension Stadium on Sunday evening. And by winning the fight, Oyisa created history for their home as it is the first time ever that brothers become provincial champions at the same time having won the titles in the same month.
Hlumelo became an Eastern Cape champion after he stopped Aphiwe Magobiyane in the second round during their fight held at the Thobi Kula Indoor Sports Centre in Komani earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Mdantsane-born Theo Nxayiphi registered a unanimous points victory over Lebogang Gift Pilane with Shaun Mzayifani stopping Khayalethu Ngqani in the third round.
Siyamthanda Mbali earned a split points decision win over Yomeleze Sululu while Sandiso Centane beat Thobela Khuhlane by a third round technical knockout and Uyathandwa Ngcuphe drew with Mihlali Ntshuntsha.
