It looked like AmaZulu were going to share the spoils with Mamelodi Sundowns until Marcelo Allende netted to give the Brazilians a 1-0 win in a Betway Premiership match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Tuesday evening.

As a result of Allende’s 83rd minute goal, the Tshwane giants returned to the top of the Premiership standings with 38 points, equal with second-placed Orlando Pirates, who have also played 17 matches.

Elsewhere, Stellenbosch FC came from behind to defeat Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 in another Betway Premiership encounter played at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg.

Amakhosi led 1-0 at the end of the first half through Flavio da Silva’s 36th minute goal following a pass from Glody Makabi Lilepo.

Six minutes into the second half, Langelihle Phili equalised for the Cape Winelands side after he was put through by Devin Titus. And Titus netted Stellies’ winning goal in the 87th minute from Ibraheem Olalekan Jabaar’s assist.
