Durban City have reached the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup after they beat their neighbours Lamontville Golden Arrows 5-4 on penalties at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban, on Sunday evening.
This encounter went into penalties after the two sides had drawn 1-1 in 120 minutes of football. Fezile Gcaba scored for City while Thokozani Khumalo equalised for Abafana Bes’thende.
Meanwhile, TS Galaxy also advanced to the last four of the competition after they defeated Jacksa Spears 2-0 at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, earlier.
Brazilian Igor Salatiel Silva netted the Rockets’ first goal with Orlando Pirates product Tshepo Kakora scoring their second strike.
