With knockout artist Lonwabo Sizani’s sixth professional bout only just over two weeks away, his trainer Mzi Dintsi believes that his charge is ready to test his fistic skills against Errikie Errikie from Walvis Bay in Namibia.
The unbeaten Sizani from Mdantsane clashes with Errikie in a World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Youth junior-lightweight title fight at the Guild Theatre in KuGompo City on Saturday, 4 April. Initially, Sizani was set to face off against Tanzanian opponent Ahmed Mangula in a bout, which was going to pit two unbeaten boxers against each other.
“We are ready for the fight. We have sparred with different boxers while preparing for this fight,” Dintsi, a former South African junior-bantamweight champion, said.
Sizani, who has fought nine out of 26 scheduled rounds, won all his five fights with stoppages. On the other hand, Errikie has fought 16 of the 22 scheduled rounds as his record stands at four wins with two knockouts and a loss.
Meanwhile, Sizani stopped Aphiwe Magobiyane in November last year and Errikie registered a stoppage win over his Namibian compatriot Benjamin Dula in Windhoek last month. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
