A 2-1 win over Chippa United at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday afternoon took Stellenbosch FC to the top-eight bracket.
Orlando Pirates loanee Tshegofatso Mabasa opened the scoring from a Langelihle Phiri pass in the 32nd minute. Three minutes later, Mabasa made it 2-0 after Enyinnaya Kazie Godswill pass.
Following a number of attempts and forays into the Stellies territory, the Chilli Boys finally scored through Sinoxolo Kwayiba’s converted penalty nine minutes before the end of the match.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu moved to third place in the Premiership table following a 1-0 win over Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
