Failure to win a match in six outings has forced DStv Premiership side TS Galaxy to fire their coach Daniel ‘Dance’ Malesela for the second time in two successive seasons.

The Rockets fired Malesela last season after Chippa United had beaten them 3-0 in a Nedbank Cup match played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

But they recalled Malesela when Rockets president Tim Sukazi bought the status of Highlands Park before the beginning of this season.

Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Cape Town City was the last straw, which broke the camel’s back. The Rockets are 12th on the DStv Premiership table.

Malesela led the Rockets to a win, three draws and three losses this season something which didn’t sit well with Sukazi.

‘‘The decision to part ways with coach Dan was not an easy one as he has a rich history with our club. Unfortunately, football is a result driven business and decisions such as this can only be based on results than history,’’ Sukazi said in a statement.

Zipho Dlangalala, who was Malesela’s assistant, is going to take over the coaching reigns at the Rockets albeit on a caretaker basis.Dlangalala is going to be assisted by Esau Mtsweni.

‘‘Coach Zipho is going to be our head coach in the interim. All I can do is to wish him well because he deserves the opportunity to assume the head coaching role on a permanent basis, but only time will tell.He is a very good coach whom I believe has the potential that is yet to be realised at top level of the game’’ Sukazi said.

‘‘Coach Zipho will be assisted by coach Esau Mtsweni who has been serving on the same role for quite some time. We believe there is good synergy between the two coaches which could bring success to the club,’’ said Sukazi.

The Rockets, who play their home matches at the Mbombela Stadium in
Nelspruit, are going to face Baroka FC on Tuesday, 05 January 2021.
