Ivory Coast sent Algeria crashing out of the Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-1 hiding in a Group E match at the Japoma Stadium in Garoua, Cameroon, on Thursday evening. 

Things started to go wrong for the Algerians when Franck Kessie put the Elephants ahead in the 23rd minute following a pass from Nicolas Pepe. 

Ibrahim Sangare’s header off a Serge Aurier free kick made it 2-0 five minutes before the half-time whistle. Pepe scored the Elephants’ third goal when he sent a curler into the net nine minutes after restart. 

The Desert Foxes continued to probe in search of their first goal and their efforts were rewarded when Sofiane Bendebka netted ln the 74th minute.
