SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo is satisfied with Matsatsantsa a Pitori’s performance during their 2-1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic in a DStv Premiership fixture at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in
Atteridgeville on Wednesday evening.

On-form Matsatsantsa strikers Thamsanqa Gabuza and Bradley Grobler scored for Tembo’s side with Victor Letsoalo netting for Phunya Sele Sele.

‘‘It was a good game, I think we had a very good start. They scored because we were defending a little bit too deep. If you do that
against a team like Celtic you are always inviting problems, that is what happened as we gave away a penalty,’’ Tembo said.

‘‘In the second half we just had to manage the game. We had to do what we had to do. I’m happy with the performance of the guys.’’

The Matsatsantsa coach also added that he’s proud of Grobler, who scored his 10th goal of the season.

‘‘Look, I’m really proud of him, he has done well. In the past two seasons he has scored goals for us. His progress has previously been hampered by injuries. We tried to manage him to ensure that he stayed
fit, credit to the conditioning team,’’ the former Matsatsantsa and Seven Stars defender said.

While Tembo showed his satisfaction, Celtic coach John Maduka said that Phunya Sele Sele were unlucky to leave Atteridgeville with nothing.

‘‘I think we played well, we were just unfortunate we conceded the goals on set pieces. The outcome of this match I think is not the true reflection of the game. We knew one of their strengths is set pieces and if you don’t defend you get punished,’’ said Maduka.
