Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila coach Joel Masutha has admitted that his team deserved to lose to Orlando Pirates after the Buccaneers clobbered them 3-0 in a DStv Premiership match at the Thohoyandou
Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Masutha added that before the match they spoke about what Pirates were going to do during the game and how to stop them. However, his players failed to match the Buccaneers.

‘‘It was a game we did exactly what we were not suppose to do. I have watched Pirates, we knew how they play. We told the players that there would be traps and we fell into those traps,’’ Masutha said.

‘‘I felt the game was lost in the first half. To be honest we defended very, very badly. Our passes, we made too many mistakes in crucial areas.’’

The former Chippa United and Black Leopards coach revealed that they tried their best in the second half to make sure that Pirates didn’t embarrass them further.

‘‘We gave Pirates the victory. In the second half we tried, but after 3-0 we tried to consolidate and not concede the fourth goal. Based on the mistakes we made we deserved to lose the match,’’ he said.

Next up for TTM is a clash against Lamontville Golden Arrows in Durban
on Saturday while Pirates will face Leopards in Thohoyandou on Sunday.
