AmaZulu right back Mbongeni Gumede is itching for an Usuthu win after the Durban club failed to get maximum points in the last three matches.
Usuthu, who are going to play against SuperSport United away in a DStv Premiership match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium at 17h00 on Wednesday, have picked up only two points from a possible nine.
They played draws with Bloemfontein Celtic and Maritzburg United and lost to Kaizer Chiefs.
“It’s important to focus on ourselves. We are ready as a team. It’s important for us to look back at our previous game even though we didn’t take our chances,” Gumede said.
“It’s not gonna be an easy game against SuperSport. I’m, however, sure that we will get goals and win the match.”
Coach Benni McCarthy’s Usuthu have bagged five points in the four matches he has been in charge since his employment in December. McCarthy only picked up maximum points when Usuthu beat Chippa United 3-1 in his first game at the team.
AmaZulu occupy position 10 on the Premiership table with 11 points from the same number of games. Their opponents Matsatsantsa a Pitori are third with 23 points from 11 matches.
