Mamelodi Sundowns stretched their unbeaten run to 14 matches after they came back from 1-0 down to beat Black Leopards 2-1 in a DStv Premiership fixture at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Peter Shalulile, who joined the Brazilians from Highlands Park, netted a brace for Sundowns after Ovidy Karuru had given Lidoda Duvha a lead early in the second half.
Leopards took the lead in the 46th minute after Karuru finished off Sibusisi Kumalo’s cross.
There was a scare when Lidoda Duvha’s Sibongiseni Mthethwa and his teammate Lifa Hlongwane collided. Hlongwane was taken off the field by ambulance.
Action carried on and Shalulile equalised when he scored his fifth goal of the season in the 64th minute.
A minute later, Sundowns were reduced to 10 men after Mothobi Mvala was sent off. Mvala got his marching orders after he pulled Leopards striker Rodney Ramagalela denying him an obvious goal scoring opportunity.
Shalulile netted his second goal of the match during added time and took his tally to six goals in 13 matches.
The Brazilians, who are log leaders, have won eight and drawn six matches accumulating 30 points in the process.
Lidoda Duvha, meanwhile, have only won twice, drawn three and lost seven matches.
