Chippa United captain Augustine Kwem knows what to expect from Mamelodi Sundowns whom they meet in a DStv Premiership fixture at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Sunday (15h30).
Kwem reckons that both the Chilli Boys and the Brazilians play the same type of football.
“Obviously, they turn to keep the ball, but I believe that we are gonna match them in that. It’s gonna be tactics against tactics. We are positive going to that game,” Kwem said.
“We saw them when they were playing against Black Leopards. We saw that they are vulnerable also. We believe we can get the points.”
The Chilli Boys go to the Sundowns game after Wednesday’s match against Bloemfontein Celtic at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Mangaung was called off because of a water-logged pitch.
“We were keen to be on the field and grab the three points. We were unlucky that the weather didn’t allow us to play,” Kwem said.
The Chilli Boys have been on the road since the last fixture in December because of a COVID-19 scare in Port Elizabeth.
“It’s been hectic, but it’s a sacrifice we must make. We are not only sacrificing for the team we love, but also for the fans that love the team. Even throughout this pandemic we have to sacrifice and hope for the best.”
