Thamsanqa Sangweni would love to win the Nedbank Cup and ensure that his team Chippa United bag their first trophy ever.
But the Chilli Boys midfielder has Cape Town City to worry about before thinking about winning the competition. The Chilli Boys face the Citizens in a Nedbank Cup last 16 match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Sunday.
“I played in the final of the Nedbank Cup before, but I never won it. This time, hopefully, we will try and do our best. It’s one game at a time,” Sangweni said.
The former Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United midfielder knows what kind of opponents the Citizens are.
“We play Cape Town City on Sunday. So all we want is to win the game,” the former Chilli Boys captain said.
“We are just looking forward to the game on Sunday. Cape Town City are a very good team. You can’t take them for granted because they have good players.”
Both teams go into this match after playing home draws in DStv Premiership matches. The Chilli Boys drew 1-1 with TS Galaxy while the Citizens also registered the same scoreline with Swallows FC.
