Nyiko Mobbie is hungry for three points and he hopes that his team Chippa United will satisfy his hunger when they clas with AmaZulu in a DStv Premiership fixture at Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London on Wednesday (17h00).
The Chilli Boys are struggling to get wins and their problems worsened when Orlando Pirates walloped them 3-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha last Saturday.
“It’s not easy, it’s football. I think we will win this game, but it’s not going to be easy playing AmaZulu, they are a good team. We want to win, we have to win,” Mobbie said.
Usuthu beat the Chilli Boys 3-1 in the first round match played at King’s Park in Durban in December. That was Usuthu coach Benni McCarthy’s first match in charge at the Durban side.
Mobbie, who is on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, refuses to blame their struggles to a tight schedule. The Chilli Boys sometimes play three matches in seven days.
“We can’t complain about that. We must concentrate and try to win. I’m looking forward to getting three points. We are not in a good position on the log,” Mobbie said.
The Chilli Boys, who are 13th on the Premiership table with 16 points from 18 games, are going to remain in East London after facing Usuthu. They face GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay FC in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup in Mdantsane on Saturday afternoon.
