The disciplinary hearing of 2016 Promoter of the Year award winner Andre Thysse has been postponed to Tuesday, 20 April.
Thysse, who traded under Real Steel Promotions when he was still a promoter, appeared before a Boxing South Africa (BSA) disciplinary committee on Wednesday. He was dragged to a DC after he was charged with violating COVID-19 regulations.
This followed after Thysse, who is now a boxers manager, attended Jackie Brice’s tournament in Cape Town last December. The former South African super-middleweight champion attended the tournament to support his boxer Josh Pretorius during a then vacant South African heavyweight title fight against eventual winner Tian Fick.
Before appearing availing himself for the DC, an unrepentant Thysse vowed to fight BSA saying he won’t be cowed into silence. Wednesday’s hearing took more than nine hours before it got postponed.
