Reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight champion Moruti ‘Babyface’ Mthalane, his trainer Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan and second Hayden Jones are going to leave for the United Kingdom next week where they will begin a 14-day isolation.
Mthalane will finalise his preparations in the UK ahead of his fight against Sunny Edwards on Friday, 30 April.
“We are leaving next week either on Tuesday or Wednesday,” Nathan, who is the chief trainer at Hot Box Gym in Johannesburg, confirmed.
Nathan also confirmed that Khanyile Bulana, trainer Vusi Mtolo and assistant trainer Johan Truter will leave for Italy on Tuesday, 20 April. Bulana challenges International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-lightweight champion Magnesi in Rome, Italy, on Saturday, 24 April.
Meanwhile, Bernie Pailman will lead Lerato Dlamini into battle when he fights against Hassan Milanzi from Zimbabwe in a 10 rounds bout at the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino in Gqeberha on Saturday, 24 April.
Dlamini’s fight against Milanzi is on the undercard of the IBF junior-flyweight elimination bout between East London boxer Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga and Christian ‘The Bomb’ Araneta from the Philippines.
