Noni Tenge believes that her ‘loyalty’ to the World Boxing Federation (WBF) has paid off and has given thanks to the organisation’s president Howard Goldberg.
The former International Boxing Federation (IBF) female welterweight champion is grateful to Goldberg for the opportunity to fight against unbeaten WBF middleweight and super-middleweight queen Ema Kozin from Slovenia.
Tenge, who is based in Gqeberha, will challenge the 22-year-old Kozin in Malta on Friday, 30 July.
“The fight is in July. I’m grateful to Howard Goldberg for making it possible for me to get the fight. I think this happened because I have been loyal to the WBF,” Tenge, who is the reigning WBF female juniors middleweight champion, said.
The 39-year-old Tenge is trained by Nicky Erasmus in Gqeberha. Erasmus is assisted by Mkhuseli Kondile, a former South African junior-lightweight champion.
