Mdantsane’s Ludumo ‘9mm’ Lamati, who is based in Johannesburg, has a date with Mexican boxer Jose Martin Estrada Garcia.
Lamati, 28, and 32-year-old Garcia are going to fight for the vacant International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-featherweight title at the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on Saturday, 19 June.
Trained by former South African bantamweight champion Phumzile Matyhila, Lamati will go to the Garcia fight on the back of a win over Said Mohamed Hassan from Tanzania in March this year.
The former South African junior-featherweight champion’s fight against Garcia is going to be promoted by Golden Gloves, his new home since he ditched Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) earlier this year.
