Eastern Cape Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane is going to visit Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium precinct in Gqeberha on Tuesday morning.
The purpose of Mabuyane’s visit is to wish the Chilli Boys well ahead of their Nedbank Cup final encounter against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila. The Chilli Boys face Vhadau Vha Damani at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday (18h00).
This is the first time the Chilli Boys play in a cup final having reached the Nedbank Cup semi-finals twice and MTN8 once before.
The Chilli Boys, who are trying to move away from the danger zone, have done well in their last three matches. They won twice – against Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC – and drew with Lamontville Golden Arrows. The latest results have taken the Eastern Cape club to 14th on the DStv Premiership standings with 24 points from 26 matches.
They are now left with three home games against Black Leopards, Bloemfontein Celtic and SuperSport United as well as an away match against TTM.
