Losing 3-0 to Tanzanian club Simba SC doesn’t matter much to Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt.
Leading Amakhosi to the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League following a 4-3 aggregate win over Simba is what Hunt regards as important.
“It was very difficult today. We got through that’s the most important thing,” Hunt said after the match in Tanzania on Saturday.
“There was no danger for 25, 26 minutes and they scored from a corner, which put us a little bit back. They got one again, which made things a little difficult. They are the home team. They threw in numbers.”
Hunt is going to focus on DStv Premiership matches now that he has led Amakhosi to the Champions League semi-finals.
Amakhosi are 11th on the Premiership standings with 30 points from 27 matches with three games to go before the end of the season.
Chiefs travel to Thohoyandou on Wednesday for a clash against basement club Black Leopards. Thereafter, Amakhosi face Lamontville Golden Arrows on Wednesday, 2 June, and then wrap up the season with a clash against TS Galaxy in Nelspruit on Saturday, 5 June.
“We need to concentrate on league games and try to get ourselves up,” Hunt said.
