Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile didn’t beat about the bush when he met his opponent Martin Ward from Britain on Thursday.
A bullish Fuzile told Ward that he’s going to beat him when they clash in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-lightweight eliminator at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, United States, on Saturday (Sunday morning SA time).
“I promise you bro. It’s not a threat or something. I’m gonna beat you. I’m gonna win. I didn’t sign the contract to talk. I signed the contract to fight,” Fuzile told Ward on Thursday.
Asked about how much he knows about Ward, the former South African featherweight champion admitted that he knew nothing about the Briton up until it was announced that they were going to fight against each other.
“I have seen his videos. And I have watched his videos. I can beat him easily. I just knew Martin Ward when they said I was gonna fight him,” Fuzile said.
The winner of this fight is going to challenge whoever wins between Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov from Tajikistan and Japanese boxer Kenichi Ogawa, who face off in July.
