Mamelodi Sundowns co-coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena have won the May/June Coach of the Month award.
The duo led the Brazilians to 16 points – five wins and a draw – between 2 May and 2 June.
They beat Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer, SuperSport United’s Kaitano Tembo and Dylan Kerr from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila to the award.
Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile walked away with the Player of the Month award. The Footballer of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season nominee scored four goals in five matches in the said period. He won the award ahead of his teammates Mosa Lebusa and Rivaldo Coetzee as well as Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo from TTM.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs’ Happy Mashiane won the Goal of the Month award for the free kick he scored during Amakhosi’s 2-2 draw with Bloemfontein Celtic.
