West Africans Senegal beat Mozambique 1-0 in a COSAFA Cup encounter at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium in KwaZakhele, Gqeberha, on Friday afternoon.
Pape Djitte scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute to give the Teranga Lions their first win in the COSAFA Cup after they lost their opening match 2-1 to Namibia.
On the other hand, the Mambas drew goalless with Zimbabwe’s Warriors in their opening match on Wednesday.
The Teranga Lions’ next match is on Tuesday against Zimbabwe at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium while the Mambas are going to play against Malawi on Sunday.
