Egyptian giants Al Ahly continued their dominance in African football when they humiliated Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in the final of the CAF Champions League at Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco, on Saturday evening.

However, it was never to be as Mohamed Sherif opened the scoring in the 53rd minute. A beautiful goal by Mohamed Moursy in the 64th minute made it 2-0 before Amro Elsoulia put matters beyond Chiefs’ reach in the 74th minute.
Things started to go bad for Chiefs when they were reduced to 10 men after Happy Mashiane was red carded by Burundian referee Pacifique Ndabihawenimana on the stroke of half time. .
The 23-year-old Mashiane was sent for an early shower following a reckless tackle on Akram Elhagrasi.
There were moments when Al Ahly players passed the ball as if they were in a practice session.
Meanwhile, this is the third time Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane won the CAF Champions League trophy. He won it twice (2020 and 2021) with the Egyptian club and once with Mamelodi Sundowns (2016).
