The Springboks are set to return to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha in August.
The Boks are going to play back-to-back matches against Argentina on 14 and 21 August with both games starting at 17h05.
Coach Jacques Nienaber’s boys will be beginning the defence of their Rugby Championship title, which they won in 2019. There was no Rugby Championship in 2020 because of COVID-19.
“We are grateful to Argentina for having agreed to play their home match against the Boks in the Castle Lager Rugby Championship here in South Africa,” SA Rugby chief executive officer Jurie Roux said.
“Unfortunately, there is little prospect that spectators will be allowed to attend matches, but we are pleased to be returning to the Eastern Cape for these important Tests.”
Roux added that they are excited to resume competition with Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.
This is going to be the first time the Boks play in Gqeberha since their 23-12 win over the Wallabies in September 2018.
