Eastern Cape boxer Sharadene Fortuin will finally get an opportunity to fight again when she faces off with Melissa Miller in August.
Fortuin from Seymour will attempt to wrestle the South African female bantamweight title from Miller at the Booysens Boxing Gym in Johannesburg on Sunday, 15 August.
Initially, Fortuin’s fight against Eldorado Park-based Miller was scheduled for Friday, 30 July, at the Graceland Casino in Secunda. However, it got postponed after State President Cyril Ramaphosa returned the country to alert level 4 recently.
The fight was going to be promoted by Jacob Mnisi’s J4Joy Boxing Promotions.
The former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) female bantamweight champion, who is trained by Harry Ramogoadi-Manaka at his VIP Boxing Academy in Benoni, last fought when she defeated Thema Zuma in an IBO Intercontinental female bantamweight shootout in December 2018.
Meanwhile, Miller’s last fight was a loss to Simangele Hadebe in Secunda in March. Miller was a last minute substitute in that fight.
