Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) international adviser Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan says South African boxing followers must not worry about Felix Alvarado fighting against Erick Lopez instead of facing Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga.
Alvarado clashes with his Nicaraguan compatriot Lopez in a third defence of his International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight title on Saturday, 14 August.
Nontshinga outpointed Filipino boxer Christian ‘The Bomb’ Araneta in April to earn the right to challenge Alvarado.
“Alvarado has no choice. He will face Nontshinga after this fight. We should never be worried about Alvarado’s upcoming fight,” Nathan said.
Alvarado last fought when he stopped South African boxer DeeJay Kriel in January this year while Spain-based Lopez will go to the fight on the back of four successive losses.
