Kaizer Chiefs beat Orlando Pirates 4-3 on penalties to win the Carling Black Label Cup at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Sunday evening.
The match was decided on penalties after the Soweto arch-rivals failed to score in 90 minutes.
Daniel Cardoso, Bernard Parker, Phathutshedzo Nange and Kgaugelo Sekgota converted Chiefs’ penalties while Sabelo Radebe missed.
On the other hand, Pirates’ penalties were scored by Deon Hotto, Kabelo Dlamini and Richard Ofori with Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Wayde Jooste missing their spot kicks.
This was the first time ever that Amakhosi won the Carling Black Label Cup on penalties.
