Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena has said that he’s happy with Gaston Sirino’s commitment to the Brazilians.
Mokwena was talking after the Tshwane giants beat AmaZulu 1-0 through Themba Zwane’s penalty in their DStv Premiership opener at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Friday evening.
It was reported recently that Sirino wanted out of Sundowns as he eyed a move to Egyptian giants Al Ahly where he was going to reunite with his former Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane.
“Gaston is a very important player for us. He’s settled now, very focused,” Mokwena said.
“This is what we say all the time. We can’t remember one or two mistakes when the player has shown us 150 times that he loves the club. He’s committed to the club. We try to remember the times he fought for us to win football matches.”
The 30-year-old Uruguayan came on as a second half substitute replacing Aubrey Modiba during the match against Usuthu.
“We are happy, his attitude is here. He’s settled, focused on helping the club meet its objectives,” Mokwena said.
