Baroka FC coach Matsimela Thoka remains proud of his boys following a 2-0 win over Marumo Gallants at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday evening.
Goals from Manuel Kambala and Evidence Makgopa ensured that Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele picked three points in their season opener.
“I think overall the performance of the boys they did very well. I’m proud of the boys. First clean sheet of the season and three points at home. The fighting spirit, I’m happy about everything,” Thoka remarked.
Bakgaga’s second match of the season is away to Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Wednesday (17h00) and Thoka is hoping for another good run.
“We are looking forward to another game against Kaizer Chiefs. It’s not gonna be an easy match,” Thoka said.
Gallants coach Sebastian Migne, meanwhile, is disappointed to lose in his very first match in South Africa.
“I’m disappointed of course because for the first game in the PSL we lost. But at least the second half was better,” he said.
