COVID-19 has once again claimed the life of a former South African champion.
Giovanni ‘Shosholoza’ Pretorius has succumbed to the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.
Pretorius was a former South African middleweight champion, who won 28 times, lost twice and drawn once.
The coronavirus has hit boxing hard in recent months killing ring official Neville Hotz, ex-SA junior-middleweight champion Andre Thysse and former International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-featherweight titlist Lehlohonolo Ledwaba.
