Former world champion Zolani ‘Last Born’ Tete has insisted that he’s fighting in Nelspruit next month.
This follows after rumours, which said that the 33-year-old Tete was not fighting anymore.
Mdantsane-born Tete faces Jelbirt ‘Panther’ Gomera from the Philippines at Emnotweni Casino in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, on Saturday, 11 December.
“I’m fighting on the 11th of December. I went to a press conference in Johannesburg where everything was confirmed earlier this week,” the former International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-bantamweight and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) bantamweight titlist insisted.
Tete’s fight against Gomera is the main bout of the tournament, which is going to be promoted by Joyce Kungwane’s TLB Boxing Promotions.
Meanwhile, former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight champion Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni is fighting with Filipino boxer Sonny Katiandagho in the main supporting bout.
