Argentine superstar Lionel Messi won his seventh Ballon d’Or at a glittering function in Paris, France, on Monday evening.
The 34-year-old Messi, who moved from Spanish La Liga side Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain in the French Ligue One this season, beat Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, Karim Benzema from Real Madrid as well as Chelsea duo of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante to the prize.
Messi won the Ballon d’Or in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019 and 2021.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Spain and Barcelona midfielder Alexis Putellas won the Ballon d’Or Feminin.
