Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids believes that they could have done better after the Buccaneers were held to a goalless draw by Baroka FC in a DStv Premiership match at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Thursday evening.
The Soweto side created a number of goal scoring opportunities, but failed to convert them into goals.
“I think we started the game well. We had a huge opportunity to go 1-0 with an open goal. I think (Deon) Hotto slipped in that moment,” Davids said.
“It was a good start, good ascendancy trying to get the goal. We were on the ascendancy, we dominated. It was really good that the players didn’t take their foot off the pedal.”
The former Maritzburg United coach added that Bucs wouldn’t have scored even if they had played 20 more minutes. And he insisted that Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele only came to Orlando to get a draw.
Meanwhile, Bakgaga coach Kgoloko Thobejane is still searching for his first win since returning to lead the Limpopo side.
“This is about quality, precision, accuracy, intensity, power and strength. What we need is three points. This one is better than nothing, we accept it,” Thobejane said.
