Nkululeko ‘The Bulldog’ Mhlongo showed that he still has some bite as he stopped Namibian Lukas ‘The Demolisher’ Ndafoluma in the eighth round at the Windhoek County Club Resort and Casino in Namibia on Saturday evening.
As a result of the stoppage, Mhlongo became the new World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa middleweight champion.
Mhlongo, a South African middleweight titlist, from Eshowe in KwaZulu-Natal was fighting for the first time since he lost to John Bopape in a non-title bout earlier this year.
On the other hand, Ndafoluma was attempting to make a successful second defence of the title he won when he defeated Malawian Simion Tchetha in Namibia in February this year.
Ndafoluma, who was born in Oshakati, defeated Angolan Cristiano Ndombassy in his first title defence in Gqeberha in July.
