Kaizer Chiefs’ application to have their December matches postponed following positive COVID-19 cases has been rejected by both the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Football Department and executive committee.
This was revealed by the PSL in a statement on Monday after Chiefs had asked for postponement of their matches following 36 positive COVID-19 cases.
Chiefs’ application was first rejected by the PSL Football Department and they were then given a chance to state their case before the League’s executive committee, which also turned down their request.
Amakhosi didn’t honour two matches against Cape Town City at home and Lamontville Golden Arrows away.
Meanwhile, the PSL is going to hold a press conference on Wednesday, 5 January to give more information on the matter.
