Indian opening batsman KL Rahul knocked a century on day one of the first Test against the Proteas in Centurion on Sunday.
Rahul, who was 122 not out, helped India reach 272 for three at stumps after he hit 14 fours and a six in the 248 balls he faced.
The 29-year-old India vice-captain reached his century after facing 218 deliveries. Rahul became the first Indian opener to score centuries in England, West Indies, Australia and South Africa.
Mayank Agarwal chipped in with 60 from 123 balls while Proteas bowler Lungi Ngidi took three wickets for 45 runs in 17 overs.
