Sierra Leone held defending Africa Cup of Nations champions Algeria to a goalless draw in their opening match at the Japoma Stadium in Douala, Cameroon, on Tuesday afternoon.
It was expected that the Desert Foxes would have it easy during the match, but it was never to be as the Leone Stars held their own against their much-vaunted opponents.
It was then easy to understand when Leone Stars fans celebrated on the stands as if their team had won the match after the referee’s final whistle.
