Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen had a magnificent innings each scoring a century during the first one day international (ODI) against India at Boland Park in Paarl on Wednesday.

This was 31-year-old Bavuma’s second ODI century since making his Proteas debut in September 2016.

Bavuma, who scored his first ODI ton in a match against Ireland in 2016, reached his second century after facing 133 deliveries. He is the second South African cricketer to score a ton on debut.

In the end, Bavuma, who knocked 110 runs from 143 balls, was caught by KL Rahul off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling.

Meanwhile, Van der Dussen scored his second ODI century after facing only 8 deliveries.

Van der Dussen was unbeaten for 129 – his highest ODI score ever – from 96 balls after the Proteas posted 296 for four in 50 overs.
