The Eagles of Mali beat Mauritania 2-0 in an Africa Cup of Nations Group F match in Douala, Cameroon, on Thursday evening.
Massaido Haidara scored the Eagles’ first goal in the second minute and D’Ibrahima Kone made it 2-0 in the 49th minute.
Both Mali and Gambia, who beat Tunisia 1-0 through Ablie Jallow’s goal, reached the last-16 of the tournament.
