Karl Toko Ekambi netted twice in the second half to lead hosts Cameroon to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations as they beat Gambia 2-0 at the Japoma Stadium in Douala on Saturday evening.
Following a goalless first half, Ekambi scored his first goal in the 50th minute. He then completed his brace seven minutes later to make sure that the Indomitable Lions reach the last eight of the tournament.
The Scorpions, who were tournament debutants, were out to cause an upset. However, it was never do be as the Scorpions couldn’t bite with Cameroon determined to advance to the semi-finals.
