Soon after landing at the King Phalo Airport in East London on Tuesday morning, South African champion Mpumelelo Tshabalala declared that he will return to his Katlehong home with the national junior-flyweight belt this coming weekend.

Tshabalala is going to make the first defence of his SA flyweight title against Duncan Village’s Sikho Moshani at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) on Friday.

The lad from Katlehong in Ekurhuleni won the SA title after he stopped Xolisa Magusha from Sada in the fifth round at the same East London venue in March this year.

“I’m here to defend my title. I have heard what my opponent has said. What happened to Magusha is gonna happen to him as well. I’m going to be stronger than the time I fought against Magusha,” Tshabalala, who landed in East London together with his trainers Patrick and Peter Malinga, said.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Tshabalala has admitted that Moshani is a closed book to him. He, however, said that he’s not going to have a problem.

“I have never seen him fighting before. That is not a problem to me. I will be able to study him in the first round and then bang him,” Tshabalala remarked.
