Simnikiwe Bongco failed in his bid to reach the middleweight final at the Commonwealth Games currently underway in Birmingham, England.
This follows after the 21-year-old Bongco from Duncan Village in East London lost to Australian Callum Peters in the semi-finals on Saturday.
The lanky 19-year-old Australian moved to the final following a unanimous decision victory over Bongco, who will return to South Africa with a bronze medal.
